If you follow these tips, caring for your silver will be incredibly easy! These methods will help prolong the luster of your silver for years to come!

Regular maintenance of your silver is a must if you want your jewelry to look its best. Here are our tips for caring for your favorite jewelry.

Maintain Proper Storage

 

You need a special place to store your fine jewelry.

 

Exposure to air can damage your silver. Don't leave it lying on your nightstand or in an open jewelry chest. And don't just leave it in your purse or drawer.

It is best to store silver in individual sealed bags with tarnish protection.

DO NOT put multiple items in one bag to save time or space. This can lead to tangling, scratching, tarnishing, and that is what we are trying to avoid here.

For added protection, silica gel packs provide anti-tarnish protection.

If you are traveling with your jewelry, be sure to use a special case for protection.

Don't forget to take off your jewelry.

We know it can be difficult to part, even temporarily, from your favorite pendant or ring. But it's critical, and here's why.

Strong chemicals, sulphur, sweat, chlorine and harsh sunlight can ruin the shine you love in your silver.

 Don't take risks. Prevention is much easier than dealing with damaged jewelry.

 It is better to take off your silver items under the following circumstances:

- Household chores such as washing dishes, laundry and using cleaning products

- While playing sports, in the gym or contact sports

- While taking a shower or bath.

- Swimming, jacuzzi or saunas

- Very hot places (for example, lying on the beach or in the pool)

- While applying lotion, makeup, hair products)

- While preparing or eating foods containing sulfur (including eggs and mayonnaise).
- While gardening.

Please Note!!!

Jewelry with stones should be cleaned in this way

so that the product does not hit the stone:

consequences of a chemical reaction

permanently spoil the natural stone!

 

. Jewelry with stones after cleaning must be wiped

remove excess product with a damp cotton pad / stick.

Water must not fall on the stones!

 

This is especially true for rings with transparent stones (rock crystal, rose quartz, etc.),

STRONGLY DO NOT wet them!

Tarnishing of silver that will appear on the substrate from water,

will be seen through the transparent stone,

it will appear hazy and, unfortunately,

there's no way to fix this.

 

 

Make Your Own DIY Cleaner :
 

Water and Baking Soda Method

You will need 2 parts water to 1 part baking soda (use a bit more water if the jewelry has delicate features). Stir into a paste. Use an old toothbrush or cleaning wand to apply this DIY cleaner in gentle motions and movements. 

 

Dish Liquid and Water

No fancy cleaning methods needed for this option. Simply rinse the jewelry off in the same way you would clean your own hands. 

 

Salt Water Method

Line a cooking pan or large dinner plate with a sheet of aluminum foil. Place each piece of jewelry directly on the foil. 

 

Combine 1 cup of boiling water with 1 tablespoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of baking soda together. Pour the mixture into the pan or large dinner plate. Add 1/2 cup of vinegar to the mixture. 

 

Bubbles will surface! Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes (use a spoon if needed for stirring). Rinse in cool water and dry off with a microfiber cloth.
